Deep learning through dialogue...

As said one of the great American authors William Arthur Ward: “The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates.  The great teacher inspires.” As a teacher my major mission is to listen, to understand  and help figure out students aspiration.
During the last three days we had a lecture with Finnish educator and psychologist Helena Aarnio. Helena Aarnio is a Doctor of Philosophy. She devoted many years science experiments to research and develop a Dialogical Learning methods. As a result, coordinated by HAMK university and Helena Aarnio created international project – Dialogical Leaning (DIALE).

As said Aarnio & Enqvis: “Dialogue is based on equal participation. It is shared thinking and familiarisation with a given topic or issue.”  They are following contents of DIALE:

On other words, DIALE means that teaching by engaging in dialogue.  Deep leaning through DIALE. Every dialog has the following criteria:

·        As equals;
·        Symmetrically;
·        Listening word for word;
·        Suspending and wondering;
·        Inquiring;
·        Weaving and syntheses.
During the training our group learn different subsequent methods. For instance: Dialogue tickets, Word for word listening, Imprisoned by preconception, suspend and wonder, The art of inquiry-the power of questions, Weave a synthesis and etc.
As mentioned above, DIALE demonstrates group works, creation freedom and equal atmosphere.  In particularly , “Dialogue tickets” method gives to students opportunity keeping equality and utter their opinions in two sentences. On this basis, that by using this method we as a teachers can prepare our students for life. It means that teacher can develop entrepreneurships ability of students. Therefore, DIALE and authentic  learning closely linked.
“Listening ” is a key part of DIALE. The listening process is consist of  following criteria: aim, motivation, asking questions, body language, open mind and other. On of the most important requirement is a mindfulness. A listener should listen consciously. On other words, listener is able to focus his concentration.  In  my view, if listener can keep preconceptions and take something new from speaker. It means that, listener could reach aim. As a result, everyone can develop their thinking, ability and etc.
In the modern world where everyone faces a big information flow on the internet, TV, newspaper and other. Nowadays, almost everyone has virtual dependency. Pedagogical scaffolding plays significant role in society. Teacher through “listening” can develop even inspire their students.
Talking all the above points into consideration, DIALE is one of the important tool of pedagogy. The DIALE is emphases psychological way. This method useful in learning situation for better reflection.  Students can figure out crucial solution through the DIALE.
In conclusion, I want to tell that Finland education system bases on three words :”Trust, Listen, and Inspiration !” Thanks for ,readers)) Please, I will wait your comments about my todays reflection !
